Civitella In Val Di Chiana

Civitella in Val di Chiana is a common Arezzo which lies on top of a hill southwest of Arezzo. The municipality can be divided into two distinct zones: a kind of low mountain, which rises Civitella own, consists of forests as part of a beginning preappenninica, and a flat, which is located along the northern part of the Val di Chiana . The territory is lined south from the town of Monte San Savino while to the north-east to Arezzo, to tap the first common Valdarno, Laterina, Bucine and Pergine. The original settlements already existed in Roman times, and it was transformed into a stronghold Lombard in which there was a castle built defence of the village but still on the ground.
